I love this game because a lot of it's about just making one person's day better. Yeah, I imagine there's some popularity involved, but a lot of it is looking at your flist and saying, "You know, she makes me happy every time she posts/comments/changes her icons. I should let her know."

Half the time when I sign up for yuletide for the fandoms I can write, I hope I get them just so I can re-read/re-watch the cannon. It's like, "I've never thought about writing fic in this fandom, but I'd love to rewatch the show!"
